INSTRUCTOR
With an interest in music beginning at a young age, Austin’s pursuit of the bass guitar is rooted in his love of rhythm. He recalls hearing motown records at his grandparents house for the first time and being so enthralled by the foundation provided by the cast of amazing session musicians. Through exploration, Austin soon became a fan of many other genres including rock, jazz, hip-hop, & folk. This vast interest in genres plays a huge role in his musicality and songwriting.
After graduating Northern Vermont University – Lyndon, Austin quickly immersed himself in the industry, As a touring bassist, he has performed internationally and shared stages with major acts such as OneRepublic, Nathaniel Rateliff, and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. His growing résumé now includes an appearance on the 2025 Boston Calling lineup.
Since 2020, he has taught bass, guitar, and group lessons with a focus on making music accessible, enjoyable, and engaging for students of all ages. Austin is a patient teacher and strives to demystify music while making it fun!

Practice Tips:
1. Keep your instrument in sight. Having it visible can help motivate you to practice
2. Start slow! It takes time to get a piece to tempo. I would much rather a student play something under tempo but articulate every note/rhythm.
3. Always set goals for yourself.
4. Most importantly, have fun with it!
