Eros Canetti

INSTRUCTOR

Eros Canetti is vocalist, pianist, and songwriter from North Andover, MA. He graduated in Songwriting from Berklee College of Music. Growing up in musical theater since the age of 6, Eros learned the importance of music in the development of a growing adolescent. Building in confidence and self-expression, he would go on to perform in over 50 musical theater productions including off of Times Square, New York. Participating in the nationwide vocal competition Classical Singer, Eros moved on as a Semi-Finalist under the Musical Theatre Division. Simultaneously, he enrolled in his High School’s Concert and Chamber Choirs and taught himself how to self-accompany on piano. His participation in Choir would result in Gold Medal performances in California, Nashville, and Carnegie Hall as well as audition-based opportunities such as MMEA Senior District and All-State performances in venues such as Symphony Hall. He attended Berklee College of Music in Boston where he continued to pursue his love for music and veered into areas of music that he wanted to explore further and enhanced his craft through Jazz/Tonal Harmony, Counterpoint, Music Production, Music Education, Vocal Performance, Keyboard/Piano Performance, Composition, and Conducting. He grew into leadership positions such as leading his own 5-Piece Pop/Rock Band, Composing and Musical Directing an Original Musical at Emerson College, and Musical Directing a Collegiate A Cappella group that would later move on as Semi-Finalists for the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA). While an active performer, Eros has always been drawn to teaching. He prides himself as a piano and vocal private tutor working with students of all ages and all different musical backgrounds.

Something most people don’t know about you: I’m bilingual in both English and Spanish and I love to travel

Hobbies/Interests: While simultaneously growing up in music, I loved watching and writing scripts for movies.

Born/Grew Up: I was born in Newburyport, Massachusetts and grew up all over Massachusetts.

Heroes: It goes without saying I wouldn’t be where I am today without my mom. My musical heroes include the likes of Michael Jackson, Michael Bublé, and Billy Joel.

Practice Tips: Practice slower at first and start building up gradually. Additionally, I’ve found that isolating music into parts or sections can be more productive. It’s easier to process information in parts rather than all at once.
